Illa Jean Taylor, age 81, of Alma died suddenly Thursday, September 4th at St. Vincent's Hospital in Jacksonville. She was a native of Bacon County, daughter of the late Frank Nipper and Dorothy Mae Harris Nipper and was preceded in death by her husband Lether L. Taylor, four sisters, Dorothy Morrison, Gloria Nipper, Patsy Rewis and Shirley Chancey and a brother Franklin Nipper
Survivors include two sons, Jimmy D. Taylor (Jerri Lynn) Tommy Taylor (Glenda) and a daughter, Linda Jean Bagley (Jimmy) all of Alma, three brothers, James "Cotton" Nipper of Alma, Bobby Nipper of Blackshear and Ronnie Nipper of Baxley, two sisters, Ann Bazemore of Hilliard, FL. and Betty Hood of Alma; also 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, Sept. 7th at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Miles and Rev. Pet Hayes officiating. Interment will follow in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 6 to 9 PM Saturday evening.
Active pallbearers will be; Jeff Taylor, Kevin Taylor, Bryan Bagley, Cliff Hutto, Derrick Rowland, Andrew Hendry and Dan Taylor. All others in attendance will be considered honorary escorts.
