Ima Jean Yawn, age 82, of Alma passed away April 11, 2020 at Twin Oaks Nursing Home after a short illness. She was born in Bacon County on September 19, 1937 to Dennie Cash Hyers and Bertie Mae Boatright Hyers. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Clarence Johnson. She was a life long member of Lee's Chapel Baptist Church and a retired school bus driver.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, James Hollis Yawn of Alma, children, Pamela Curtis (Mike) of Hoboken, GA. and Holly Taylor (Derrick) of Alma, GA., sisters, Nova Dean Johnson of Mershon, GA. and Brenda Herrin (Cleve) of Nahunta, GA., grandchildren, Jeremy Curtis (Jasmine), Becky Gilliard (Jason), Halston Taylor (Haley) and Olivia Grace Taylor and great-grandchildren, Eli, Noah, Eden and Melody Curtis, Casey Mac Oliver, Abigail, Addiln and Ty Gilliard.
A private graveside will be held Tuesday, April 14 th at 11:00 AM at Lee's Chapel Church Cemetery with Rev. Greg Delk and Rev. Derrick Taylor officiating.
Crosby Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
