Irene Lemacks, age 93, of Alma passed away July 1st, 2015 in the Twin Oaks Nursing Home after an extended illness. She was a native of Bacon County and daughter of the late Jeff Nipper and Pearl Brown Nipper. Irene was preceded in death by her husband A. J. Lemacks, Sr., son A. J. Lemacks, Jr. two daughters, Gail Gunn and Marta Lemacks, two brothers, Jack and Earnest Nipper and a sister, Aliph O'Neil. She retired from Oxford Factory and was a member of Wesley Chapel Church on Hwy 203.
Survivors include five daughters, Joann Williams (Buster) of Alma, Annette Joyner (friend Ray Jeter) of Metter, GA., Patricia Stone (Rick) of Waycross, Julia Nell Anderson (Andy) of Lawrenceville, GA. and Rita Pierce (friend Tom Newton) of Panama City, FL., 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren and a special friend, Wannell Parker of Alma.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 4th at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Miles and Freddy Peacock will conduct the graveside service. A eulogy will be given by Wannell Parker. Interment will follow in Wesley Chapel Church cemetery on Hwy 203. The family will be receiving at the funeral home Friday from 6 to 9 PM.
Active pallbearers will be; Jamerson Lemacks, Jamie Williams, William Pierce, Albert Johnson, Jr., Scott Parkerson and Harry "P-Nut" Parkerson, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Employee's and Residents of Twin Oaks Nursing Home.
