Irene G. Stewart, age 81, of Alma passed away on March 21, 2021 at her residence after an extended illness. She was born in Screven, Georgia on March 25, 1939 to Jacob William Groover and Susie Pauline Anderson Groover.  Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Wilbur Stewart.

Survivors include four daughters, Debra Smith (Sam) of Jacksonville, FL., Yvonne Collins (Cliff) of Texas, Susan McCrimmon and Linda Stephens (Kenneth) of Alma; one brother, Wayne Groover (Arita) of Ocala, FL; 9 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 26, 2021 at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Lee officiating. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Friday from 10:00 AM from 11:00 AM.  Interment will follow in Corinth Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be; William McCrimmon, W. H. McCrimmon, Austin McCrimmon, Kenneth Stephens, Russell Waters and Timothy Hutchison.

Crosby Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
