Jackie Ray Holton, age 83, of Alma passed away at his residence Saturday, August 28, 2021 after a short illness. Born in Marion County, Florida on July 15, 1938 but had lived most of his life in Bacon County. He was son of the late Tom Berry Holton and Carrie Johnson Holton.

Mr. Jackie served in the National Guard; retired from the Bacon County Forestry and was a member of Big Creek Baptist Church.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Betty Jean Bowen Holton; three sisters, Beatrice Harris, Nell Skapura and Carolyn Cauley; brother, Ben Holton and grandson, Donovan David Anderson. Survivors include four children, Jonathan Holton and special daughter in law, Becky Holton, Melissa King, Regina Robinson (Anthony) all of Alma and Melinda Anderson (Tim) of Nicholls; 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Big Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Kenyon Fennell and Rev. Rick Darby officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at Big Creek Baptist Church Tuesday evening from 6 and 9 PM.

Active pallbearers will be; Tim Anderson, Brandon Counts, Christopher Counts, Billy Walker, Johnny Hollis and James Wilson. All others in attendance will be considered honorary escorts.

Crosby Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
