Jackie Tanner Medders, age 74, of Alma passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2020 at Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida after a short illness. She was born on December 17, 1945 to Joseph T. Tanner and Oveda M. Thomas Tanner. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Walt Medders, sister Bonnie Taylor and granddaughter Nicole Fuller.

Mrs. Jackie worked with the City of Alma for 36 years and retired in 2010 as City Clerk after 21 years. She was a member of the Georgia Municipal Association.

Survivors include her children, Teresa Smith (Louis) of Richmond Hill, Lisa Medders of Homerville and Jenny Medders (Amanda) of Douglas, four sisters, Jenny Bullard of Alma, Mary Cribb (Linton) of Nicholls, Janice Yawn (Randy), and Joyce Crosby (Larry) of Baxley, a special family friend, Susan Fuller of Homerville, 4 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held Sunday, November 1, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Pine Lawn Cemetery with Rev. Mike Lee officiating. The family will be receiving friends at the cemetery from 1:00 PM until funeral time.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the charity of your choice.

Honorary pallbearers will be; City of Alma Employees', Bacon County Fire and EMS, Alma Police Department and Roscoe Slaughter.

Crosby Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
