James Gerald Christmas, age 70, of Alma passed away Monday, October 29th at Satilla Hospice House in Waycross after an extended illness. He was a native of Bacon County and son of the late James C. Christmas and Bertha Lynch Christmas. Gerald was preceded in death by two brothers, Curtis and Winnie Christmas and two sisters, Vernie Thomas and Lois Bullard. He was a member of Big Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include a sister, Azaline Christmas of Alma, two special nephews and a niece, Greg Bullard, David Bullard and Jenny Bullard of Alma.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 31st at 3:00 PM at Big Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Stone officiating. The body will be carried to the church at 2:00 PM to lie in state. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening between 6 and 8 PM.

Active pallbearers will be; Albert Spell, Jack Price, Jerry Mims, Ben Ellis and Anthony Robinson. Honorary pallbearers will be Alma Dialysis Facility Staff and all others in attendance.
