Obituary
James Lee "J.L." Cothren, age 82, of Alma passed away suddenly at the Bacon County Hospital on Thursday, December 24th. He was a native of Bacon County and son of the late Silas Cothren and Bessie Spell Cothren and preceded in death by six brothers, Shannon, Cecil, Fred, Rio, Oliver and Clyde Cothren.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Lavada Johnson Cothren, a son, Leslie Cothren both of Alma and a daughter, Joni Leggett (Stacy) of Baxley, 2 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 1 step grandchild and 1 step great grandson.
Graveside services will be held Monday, December 28th at 2:00 PM to Campground Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Sunday from 6 to 8 PM with a eulogy given by Noah Carter.
Crosby Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
