James Derriel Lott, age 74, of Alma passed away on November 16th at St. Joseph's/Candler Hospital after an extended illness. He was a native of Irwin County and son of the late Elisha Lott and Allie Gertrude Stinson Lott. James was preceded in death by nineteen brothers and sisters. He Retired from the US Army after 22 years of service and was a member of Lee's Chapel Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife Guynell Aldridge Lott of Alma, three sons, Roy Lott (Fredia) of Register, GA., Ricky Lott Wells (Sandy) of Colorado, Roger Lott (Karen) of Glennville, GA., two stepsons, Chris Brunson of Swainsboro, GA., Ken Williamson (Angela) of Kansas City, MO., three step daughters, Cherrie Miller (Jessie) and Pam Jones (Eddie) both of Alma and Michelle Thrift (John) of Blackshear, a sister, June Lott Young of Fitzgerald, GA.; also 23 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren survive.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 18th at 2:00 PM at Lee's Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Greg Delk officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with full military honors. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Thursday from 6 to 8 PM.
Active pallbearers will be; Garlan, Dennis, Eddie and Cameron Lott, Michael Harrison and Jessie Miller. Honorary pallbearers will be; Lee's Chapel Adult Sr. Sunday School Class and all others in attendance.
