James Edgar Dixon, age 92, of Alma passed away February 1, 2023 at his residence after an extended illness. He was born in Bacon County on June 12, 1930 to Kelly Dixon and Nancy Strickland Dixon. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Melba Boatright Dixon, daughter, Danneal Dixon Boatright and sister, Azalee McCarty.

Mr. Dixon served in the US Marines.

Survivors include three children, James E. Dixon, Jr. "Jamie" (Suzy), Jenell Dixon Varnadoe and Linda Dixon all of Alma; 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

Graveside services were held Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Wesley Chapel Church Cemetery.

Crosby Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
