James Carl Hill, age 84, of Alma passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2018 at Hospice Satilla after an extended illness. Carl was born in Lee County, Alabama to the late Olin Lester Hill and Ethel Mae Ledbetter Hill; a grandson, Justin Hill, brother, Cliff Hill and a sister, Vicky McCall preceded him in death. He loved deep-sea fishing in the Gulf of Mexico and deer hunting all over the country.  He served in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the Alma United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Carolyn Dubberly Hill of Alma, two sons, Clay Hill and wife Fayth Jayneen of Manassas Park, Virginia and James Sydney "Jim" Hill and wife Jennie of Alma, one sister, Olene Stoker and husband Mack of Auburn, AL., seven grandchildren, Joy Sawyer, Jessie Hill, Nathan Hill, Cameron Hill, Logan Hill and Tristin Hill and seven great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held May 19, 2018 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. Allen Hartsfield and Rev. Henry Bass officiating.
