James Oliver " BaBo" Holton, Jr., age 69, of Alma passed away on December 12, 2017 at the Bacon County Hospital after a short illness. He was a native of Bacon County and son of late James Oliver Holton, Sr. and Ruby Lee Taylor Holton; besides his parents he was preceded in death by a niece, Rebecca Corbett. James was a member of Lee's Chapel Baptist Church, VFW Post #69, served in the US Army during the Vietnam Era and was retired from Bacon County School System in December 2008.

Mr. Holton is survived by his wife of 43 years, Nancy Sherion Rahn Holton of Alma, two daughters, Kimberly Lee (Michael) of Nicholls and Kari Lynn Lowther (Ronnie) of Alma, two sisters, Patsy Sue Hutto of Alma and Mary Elizabeth Buckner (James) of Savannah, Ga.; also five grandchildren, Trevor, Trenton and Kaitlynn Lowther, Joycelen and Emaleigh Lee.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 15 ^th at 2:00 PM at Lee's Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Greg Delk and Rev. Mike Lee officiating. Interment will follow in Holton Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6 to 9 PM.

Active pallbearers will be; Ricky & Jason Gilliard, Morris & Jack Johnson, Levy Joe & John Romie Sweat, Jerome Bell, Chris Roppe and Jason Lee. Honorary pallbearers will be; Members of the VFW and the Joy Seekers Sunday School Class.
