James E. (Jim) Carter, age 58, of Alma passed away Saturday, February 2nd at Mayo Clinic in Waycross after a short illness. He was a native of Bacon County. Jim was preceded in death by his wife Martha Ann Cole Carter and a infant sister, Nancy Ellen Carter. He was a member of Friendship Methodist Church.

Survivors include his parents, Jimmy S. Carter and Emily Thomas Carter of Alma, several cousins and a special friend, Gayla Pruitt of Waycross.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Feb. 4th at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. Glen Rainey and Rev. J. W. Womble officiating. Interment will follow in Friendship Methodist Churc Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Monday at 1:00 PM until funeral time.
