James Monroe Johnson, Jr., age 80, of Alma passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2020 at Twin Oaks Nursing Home after an extended illness. He was born in Bacon County on February 2, 1940 to James Monroe Johnson, Sr. and Dollie Townsen Johnson. Beside his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Omar Johnson and Ronnie Johnson. He served in the US Air Force.

Survivors include one son, Steven L. Johnson of Alma, brother, Scott Johnson of Alma, sister Carolyn Crews of Alma, three grandchildren, Shannon Johnson, Marie Sellers and Jason Johnson, three great-grandchildren, Madie Johnson, David Sellers and Eli Sellers all of Alma.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, October 15, 2020 at Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the cemetery from 9:30 AM until funeral time.

Crosby Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
