James Nail, age 71, of Alma passed away on February 2nd at his residence after an extended illness. He was a native of Appling County but had lived in Bacon County since 1966. James was son of the late Linton Lee Nail and Geraldine Peacock Nail and preceded in death by two brothers, Gary and Wilton Nail and a sister, Veronice Nail Lewis. He worked for Bax Steel in Baxley for 13 years, retired from D. L. Lee and Sons in 2015 after 35 years of employment and served in the US Army during Viet Nam War.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Diane Waters Nail, a son, Shane Nail (Candace) of Alma, one daughter, Deena Nail Bennett (Jeff) of Patterson, three brothers, Curtis Nail (Marilyn) of Huntsville, AL., Charles Nail (Connie) of Graham, GA. and Wendell "Bud" Nail (Janet) of Baxley, two sisters, Carolyn Nail Polk of Baxley, Ga. and Jewel Nail Hulsey of Centre, AL., also 5 grandchildren, Jameson & Emalee Bennett, Brooke, Summer and Landon Nail a special friend Dr. Glen Moore and his special pet "Bull".

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 5th at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. Glenn Bohannan officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Lawn Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Thursday from 6 to 9 PM.

Active pallbearers will be; Chet Angler, Richie Taylor, Keith Taylor, James Turner, Chuck Nail and Davey Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be; Employee's of D. L. Lee and Sons, Harry Mullis, Dr. Glen Moore, Terry Miles, Eddie Crapps and Danny Harrell.
