James Ronald Smart, age 84, of Waycross passed away March 18, 2023 at his residence after a short illness. He was born October 17, 1938 in Pierce County to Hugh Dorsey Smart and Evelee Mixon Smart. Beside his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Linton Smart.

Mr. Smart was retired from Champion Plywood Mill and was a member of Cornerstone Church of God.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Sarah Kathleen Mullis Smart of Waycross; five daughters, Martha Ann Smart, Lisa Tuten (Jonathan), Pamela Denise Dimarco (Chuck), Laura Lynn Sears and Sarah Kay Smart all of Waycross; brother, Eddie Smart (Ruth) of Alma; three sisters, Jean Mullis of Alma, Edith White and Linda Lloyd of Waycross; 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Corinth Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Brian Powell officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 6 to 8 PM.

Active pallbearers will be; Chuck Dimarco, Andrew Fullard, Christopher McCumbers, James Bonvissuto, Joseph Bonvissuto and Monty Morrow. Honorary pallbearers will be; Johnny Harden and Kenny Herrington.

Crosby Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
