James Ronnie Rewis, age 57, of Alma passed away Sunday, July 6th at his residence after an extended illness. He was a native of Bacon County, son of the late James Preston Rewis and Oveda Holton Rewis and preceded in death by a son, James Scott Rewis and a sister in law, Charlotte Deen Rewis. He was a member of Eastside Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife Bonnie Hyers Rewis of Alma, two daughters, Daisha Rewis of Alma and Shanna Rewis Louque and husband Ron of Ft. Benning, GA., two brothers, James Johnny Rewis and Pete Rewis and wife Lisa of Alma, a sister, Connie Rewis Tyre and husband Leland of Alma and four grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 9th at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Manning officiating. Interment will follow in Damascus Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 PM.

Active pallbearers will be; Little Johnny Rewis, Don Johnson, Eddie Bennett, Marty Medders, Benny Bass and Rusty Sears. All others in attendance will be considered honorary escorts.
