James Cleveland Tyre, age 73, of Patterson passed away on Sunday, April 18, 2021 at Hospice Satilla after an extended illness. Born in Bacon County on July 23, 1947 to Jennington Lamar Tyre and Jennie Lorine Medders Tyre. He was retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Jesup.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Helen Ernestine Tyre. Survivors include two children, Ronald Lamar Tyre of North Augusta, SC. and Tina Michelle Tyre  (David) of Patterson; brother, Van Lamar Tyre (Rebecca) of Savannah; six grandchildren, Ronald Casey Tyre, Amber Bianca Tyre, Magan Elizabeth Jones, Deanna Nicole Jones, Justin Lee Tyre and Rebecca Marie Tyre and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. James Lightsey officiating. Interment will follow at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral Wednesday from 1:00 PM until funeral time.

Family members will serve as active pallbearers and all others in attendance will be considered honorary escorts.

Crosby Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
