James Vernon "J.V." Lee, age 78, of Nicholls passed away on Sunday, October 15 ^th at his residence after a short illness. He was born in Coffee County to the late Prince Lee and Ada Kirkland Lee. Two sisters, Geraldine Lee and Christine Brown and brother-in-law, Tommy Nettles preceded him in death. He retired from D. L. Lee & Sons in 2001 after 30 years of employment.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Sarah Evan Lee of Nicholls, four brothers, P.A. Lee (Shirley) and Donnie Lee (Dollie) of Nicholls, Carlis Lee (Letha) of Jacksonville, FL. and Virgil Lee (Elaine) of Douglas, Ga., one sister, Lois Nettles of Palatka, FL., a brother-in- law, Frank Brown of Jacksonville, FL., four special nieces, Ashley White and Kim Davis of Alma, Sharon Ray of Waycross and Misty Willis of Cordele, GA.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 18 ^th at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Ray and Rev. L. G. Aldridge officiating. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 1:00 until funeral time. Interment will follow in Roberts Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be; Gene Lee, Eddie Lee, Mickey Burnham, Randy Harold, Michael Ray and Dwayne Streat. Honorary pallbearers will be; Senior Adult Sunday School Class at Saginaw Baptist Church.
