James Lafayette Williams, Sr., age 69, of Alma passed away Wednesday, June 29th at Memorial Medical Center in Savannah after a short illness. He was a native of Bacon County the adopted son of the late Dewitt and Lennie Williams and preceded in death by his wife Shirley Sullivan Williams and his son James Lafayette Williams, Jr. He served in the US Navy.

Survivors include four brothers, Otis Williams, Jerry Williams and Ricky Williams (Mary) all of Alma and Tilly Williams of Waverly, GA., one step brother, Travis Williams (Brenda) of Alma, two sisters, Janell Overstreet (Jr.) and Gloris Ann Johnson (Donnie Altman) of Alma, three grandchildren, Crystal, Christina and B. J. Williams, two great-grandchildren, Levi and Lefaye and a daughter-in-law, Pamela Williams Kesseler of Jacksonville, FL.

Graveside services will be held Friday, July 1st at 3:00 PM at Rose Hill Cemetery with Rev. Pet officiating. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Friday at 2:00 PM.
