Jennell Yawn Barlow, age 80, of Alma died early Monday morning February 18th, 2013 at Twin Oaks Convalescent Center after an extended illness. She was a native of Bacon County, daughter of the late Albert Yawn, Sr. and Marie Carver Yawn and was also preceded in death by her husband Colon Barlow, a brother, Albert Yawn, Jr., two sisters, Marlene Brown and Jewell Thomas, two grandchildren, Sharon and James Cody Barlow. Jennell was of the Southern Congregational faith.
Survivors include a son, Carlos Lee Barlow and wife Jean Ann of Heavener, OK, two brothers, W. C. Yawn (Valdese) of Hazlehurst, Rev. T F Yawn (Ellen) of Alma, a sister, Willene Fincher of Baxley, a grand daughter, Christy Barlow of Mississippi. Also, several nieces and nephews survive.
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock from the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. Robby Yawn and Rev. James Carter officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening between 6 and 8 P M.
Active pallbearers will be, Buddy Smith, Blake Yawn, David Williams, Billy Starling, Chase Thornton, Drew Williams and Vernon Crews. Employee's of Twin Oaks will serve as honorary pallbearers.
