Jerry F. Taylor age 72, of Alma passed away Friday May 18th at Twin Oaks Nursing Home. He was a native of Bacon Co. and the son of the late Rufus L. Taylor and Ollie Drury Taylor. He was also preceded in death by his wife LaDonna Holton Taylor, two grandsons, Jerian and Nicholas McDonald, two brothers, Lewis and Raymond Taylor, and nine sisters, Glenda T. Lee, Leona Martin, Joyce Williams, Lois Coley, Ruth Holland, Bernice Roppe, Dorthy Taylor, Evelyn Moore, and Lollie Kato. Jerry was a member of New Union Baptist Church, and retired self employed electrician.
Survivors include two sons, Stephen and Finley Branch of Alma, three daughters, Lori Spikes and husband Jimmy of Waycross, Connie Mullis and husband Joey of Alma, and Glenda Taylor of Jacksonville, Fl., one brother Bo Moore of Alma and one sister-in-law Jenelle Taylor of Alma. Seven grandchildren, LaDonna Crump, Bryan Spikes, Brad Spikes, Sydney McDonald, Alli McDonald, Josh and James Branch, and four great-grandchildren also survive.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, June 10th at 3:00 PM at New Union Baptist Church. The family will be receiving friends at 2:00 PM until funeral time at the church.
