Jerry J. Turner, age 76, of Alma passed away suddenly at the Bacon County Hospital on Friday, February 1, 2019. He was born on February 25, 1942 in Alma, Georgia to the late Garland McGee Turner and Gladys Nesmith Turner. A wife Marsha Ahl preceded him in death.

Mr. Jerry was retired from the US Army after 26 years of service, during that time he served in the Vietnam Era. He was a member of the Alma United Methodist Church, Alma Lions Club, American Legion, VFW Post 4625, Bacon Lodge #56, served on the City Council and was a County Commissioner.

Survivors include his wife, Andrea Johnston Turner, of Alma, five children, David Turner (Nelora) of Germany, Chantel Turner Gibbons (Robert) of Destin, FL., Vance Bennett (Sherri) of Hoboken, Reed Bennett (Liz Ann) of Alma,  Stefani Evans (Darrell) of Mississippi and Bree Bennett of Baxley, half sister, Reba Sparks of Warner Robins, GA., a very close cousin, Frank Freeman (Barbara) of Warner Robins, GA. nine grandchildren, Chris and Tonda Turner, Vandi, Ammons and Lizzybeth Bennett, Stephen and Reed Evans, Lana Burkett and Dre Spivey and 2 great-grandchildren.
