Jerry Walker, age 73, of Alma passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at his residence after a short illness. He was born in Ware County November 9, 1949 to David Dewey Walker and Lila Hersey Walker. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by seven brothers and six sisters.

Jerry was a wonderful husband, father, papa and uncle. He was known for his contagious smile, laughter and hugs. Mr. Walker was a retired brick, block and stone mason.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Pam Bennett Walker; two sons, David Walker (Staci) and Michael Walker (Rhonda) of Alma; four grandchildren, Chelsey Sears (Josh), Coby Brown and Emma Walker of Alma and Grace Anne Wilson of Athens; one great-grandchild, Kanan Sears of Alma and special nephew, Shannon Walker.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 19, 2023 at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Bennett, Pastor Dusty Morris and Pastor Wayne Bennett officiating. Interment will follow in New Vision Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Friday from 10:00 AM until funeral time.

Active pallbearers will be; Tony Bennett, Nathan Bennett, Kevin Peacock, Shane Peacock, Scott Crews and Kyle Williams. All others in attendance will be considered honorary escorts.

Crosby Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
