Jessie Bell, Jr., age 85, of Alma passed away suddenly May 14, 2023 at the Bacon County Hospital.  He was born in Bacon County July 13, 1937 to Jessie Bell, Sr. and Dossie Mae Jones Bell. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Ella Faye Bell, son Vernon Lee Bell, three brothers, J. W. Bell, Mercury Bell and Johnny Bell and sister, Betty Jean Batten.

Mr. Jessie Bell was owner and operator of Jessie Bell's Service Station and was also employed with the Bacon County Board of Education for many years.

He is survived by four children, Cassandra Dorobantu of Kingsland, GA, Charlotte Bell of Jacksonville, FL, Jerome Bell (Winter) of Alma, GA and Jesse Owens of Brunswick, GA.; three brothers, Wiley Bell (Lawanda) of Alma, GA, Ira Bell (Helen) of Thomasville, GA and Virgil Bell of Alma, GA; one sister, Ida B. Jenkins of Alma, GA; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 20, 2023 from the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Pastor Jaylen Thomas officiating. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 6 to 8 PM. Final disposition will be by cremation.

Crosby Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
