Jimmie Lester Edwards, Sr., age 89, of Alma passed away Monday, November 10th at the Bacon County Hospital after an extended illness. He was a native of Liberty County but had lived in Bacon County most of his life. Jimmie was son of the late Landrum Edwards and Ruth Brewton Edwards and was preceded in death by his wife Jean Dixon Edwards and a sister, Nina Keenan. He served in the US Navy during WWII.

Survivors include two sons, Jimmie Edwards, Jr. of Miami, FL. and Ricky Edwards of Flagler Beach, FL., three daughters, Elaine Beckman (Bob) of Colorado, Brenda Edwards of Claxton and Connie Thomas of Waycross, brother, Charles Edwards of Claxton, Ga. 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, Nov. 12th at 11:00 AM at Pine Level Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Pet Hayes officiating.
