Obituary

Jimmy's life was a testament to the power of love and family. After a brief illness, he passed away on July 18, 2025, surrounded by the family he cherished. He was born in Blackshear, GA, September 25, 1934, to the late Reppard Mikell and Vivian Raulerson Mikell.

Jimmy graduated from Patterson High School. He then attended ABAC college, where he received his bachelor's degree. Jimmy resided in Bacon County where he and his family worked on their family farm. In 1971 he joined the Carpenters Union Local 865 in Brunswick, GA and Local 256 in Savannah, GA. He retired from the Carpenters Union in 2009.

He served in the United States Army and was a Bacon County Lodge 56 Master Mason.

Jimmy often expressed his gratitude for his fine family, and he was blessed to have had 67 incredible years of marriage to his loving wife, Janelle Mikell. He would proudly say that his family was one of his greatest accomplishments.

Jimmy was a devoted father to his two sons, Micky Mikell (wife April Mikell) and Mark Mikell (wife Wendy Mikell). His grandchildren, Tyler Mikell (wife Marla Mikell), Cody Mikell (wife Sarah Mikell), Molly Clements (husband Jacob Clements), and Hope Hall, brought immense joy to his life. His great-grandchildren, Sawyer Mikell, Stella Clements, Maggie Mikell, Barrett Clements, Jacob Smith, and Dana Hall, filled his heart with happiness. Jimmy's love for his family was an inspiration to all who knew him.

On July 18, 2025, Jimmy's journey on earth came to an end, but his legacy of love will live on through his family and friends.

A private family graveside was held at sunset on July 19, 2025, at Pine Lawn Cemetery to celebrate his life and the love he gave.
