Joe Julian Overstreet, 86, of Alma passed away Thursday morning (August 25, 2022) at his residence after a short illness. Mr. Joe was born in Jeff Davis County to the late Joe Brown Overstreet and Pearl McLeod Overstreet and made Alma his home for most of his life. He served in the US Marine Corp, then begin working with Sunbeam Dessert Baking Company where he later retired was owner/operator of Jewel's 7-11 for many years. He was a member of the Coffee Wesleyan Methodist Church.

In addition to his parent's, he is preceded in death by his wife, Jewel F. Parker Overstreet and brother and sister, Charles Overstreet and Doris Hester.

Mr. Joe is survived by his wife, Sandra Peacock of Alma; two sons, Joe and wife Karmen Overstreet of Monticello, IN., Michael and wife Janet Overstreet of Alma and grandkids Kris and wife Jessica, Ethan Benton, Addy Overstreet, Kevin Overstreet and wife Lulu, Rachel Overstreet, Reed Overstreet, Jordan Overstreet, Gage Overstreet, Karoline Overstreet;  great-grandchildren,Jalen, KayVee, Addy Overstreet and Ethan Benton; brother, Roy Overstreet and wife Judi of Dunwoody, GA. and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service with Military and Masonic Honors will be held for Mr. Joe on Monday morning (August 29, 2022) at 11:00 AM at Satilla Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery 750 Satilla Church Rd Hazlehurst, GA. 31539. Rev. Stanley Standiford will be officiating.  The family will be receiving friends Monday at the cemetery from 10:00 AM until service time.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to: Bethany Hospice or Masonic Home of Georgia.

Crosby Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
