John Edward (Eddie) Gilliard, age 56, of Fleming, GA died suddenly Friday September 11th, 2015 at the Liberty County Regional Medical Center. He was a native of Bacon County but had lived in the Richmond Hill Fleming area the past 45 years. He was son of the late Edward Leo Gilliard and Mary Yvonne Rigdon Batten.
Eddie was a self-employed commercial truck driver for many years.

Survivors include his wife of 14 years Linda House Bullock Gilliard of Fleming, a son James Edward Gilliard (Wendy) of Ormond Beach, FL, a daughter, Nikki Gilliard (B J) of Midway, GA, two step-sons Don Bullock (Crystle) of Silsbee, TX, Brian Kirby of Richmond Hill, GA, a sister Rhonda Merritt (Autrey) of Nicholls, six grandchildren Drake, Spencer, Bethany and Haily Gilliard, Preston Cowart and John McPhearson and a special great niece Kinsley Carver.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 11:00 o'clock from the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. Leo Kuykendall and Rev. L G Aldridge. Interment will follow in Mercer Cemetery in Bacon County. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral Home between 6 and 9 P M. Tuesday evening.

Active pallbearers will be B J Cowart, Lee Merritt, Darren Rigdon, Craig Meeks, Josh Carver and Randy Rigdon. All others in attendance will be considered as honorary.
