John Ridd Elton, age 90, of McDonough, GA passed away November 10th at Vitas Innovation Hospice in Stockbridge, GA after an extended illness. He was a native of Wheeler County but had lived in Atlanta for 38 years before moving to McDonough in 1983. John was son of the late John B. Elton and Martha Jane Clark Elton; preceded in death by a brother, Vickers Elton. He served in the US Army during WWII.

Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Eulain Wheeler Elton of McDonough, GA., three daughters, Teresa E. Akin (Gary) of Lacanto, FL, Melinda E. Young (Clay) of Simpsonville, SC. and Betty Louise Elton of McDonough, GA., one brother, Bil Elton of Decatur, GA. also four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and three great-great- grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held Sunday, November 13th at 2:00 PM at Campground Cemetery with Rev. Pete Hayes officiating and personal eulogy by Roger Johnson. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Saturday between 6:30 and 8:00 PM.
