Obituary

John E. Murray, age 53, of Nicholls died suddenly at his home Wednesday June 13th, 2012. He was a native of Albany, Georgia but had lived in Bacon County since 1989.
He was son of the late John Emmett Murray and had served in the U S Army in the 101st Air borne Rangers Unit and was involved in the Panama Conflict.

Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Beverley Meridith Smith of Nicholls, his mother, Annette Curles Palmer of Pavo, Georgia, two sons, John Robert Murray and William Christopher Murray both of Valdosta, two daughters, Sissy Renee Palermo and husband Michael of Columbus, Georgia, Autumn Lynn Malby and husband T. J, of Middleburg, FL, two brothers, Danny Murray (Kim) of Alma, Lance Palmer of Pavo, two sisters, Trena Gibbs (Frankie) of Thomasville and Desyra Watson (Tom) of Valdosta. Also, ten grandchildren and many nieces and nephews survive.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:00 o'clock from the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. Pet Hayes officiating. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Saturday evening between 6 and 9 P M. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Bacon County 4-H Club.

Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Foskey, Mike Hewett, Stanley Livingston, Scott Manning, Andy Batten, Mark Cothern, P J Douglas, Tony Kirkland, Randy Harkleroad, Andre Brinson, Bernard Cook and Shane Taylor.

Crosby Funeral Home is in charge of all the arrangements.
