John Ashley Parker, age 92, of Alma passed away at his residence on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 after a short illness. He was born on September 26, 1926 in Bacon County to the late John Burrell Parker and Fannie Lee Bratcher Parker. His wife, Velma Louise Bargeron Parker, two great-grandchildren, Dakota Moore and Molly Erin Darity, two brothers, Alvin and William t. Parker, and a sister, Louise Bennett preceded him in death.

Mr. Parker work at the Jacksonville, Florida shipyard for many years then worked with the Gilman Paper in St. Marys where he retired in 1988. He was a member of the Wesley Chapel Church.

Survivors include four children, James Don Parker of Morgan, GA., Jason Don Parker (Tina) of St. Marys, GA., Patricia Joan "Jo AN" (Sam) of Alma and Peggy Richerdean Teele (Gene) of St. Augustine, FL., 15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 24 ^th at 2:00 PM at Wesley Chapel Church with Rev. Joseph Lee and Rev. Jeff Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Saturday evening between 6 and 9 PM.

Active pallbearers will be; Austin Moore, Lariat Moore, James Raines, Ben Stancil, Randy Stencil and Wayne Parker. All others in attendance will be considered honorary escorts.
