John Wesley Pless, age 61, of Alma passed away at Emory Hospital on Wednesday, January 13th after an extended illness. He was a native of Jacksonville, Florida but had lived in Alma since 2010. Johnny was son of the late Wesley Pless and Mary Ann Rafuse Boatright and preceded in death by his step father Sammy Boatright and a brother Tom Wesley Pless. He was a commercial Truck Driver.

Survivors include his son, Derek Pless (Ludie) of Alma, three daughters, Emily Hayden- Pless, Olivia Hayden -Pless and Greta Hayden- Pless of Miami, Florida, two brothers, Len Bell and Hip Boatright (Tammie) of Alma, a sister, Pat Rigby (Roger) of Alma and 2 grandchildren Cloe and Kade Pless of Alma.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 17th at 2:00 PM at the Alma Church of God with Rev. Travis Peavy, Rev. R. B. Gaskins and Rev. Pet Hayes officiating. The body will be carried to the church at 1:00 PM. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Saturday from 6 to 9 PM.

Active pallbearers will be; Scott Crosby, Derek Pless, Bubba and Justin King, Justin Akins and Bobo Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be; Employee's of Boatright Trucking Company.
