John Earl Rigdon, age 74, passed away on Sunday, December 182017 at Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida after a John Earl Rigdon passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2017 after short illness. John was born in Alma, Georgia on April 9, 1943 to the late John Ira Rigdon and Alma Lott Rigdon; besides his parents two sisters preceded him in death, Genieve Meeks and Mary Yvonne Batten.He was a Wal Mart truck driver for many years, a member of Wolf Pit Church and served in the Army Reserves.

Mr. Rigdon is survived by his wife of 52 years, Patsy Hand Rigdon, two children, John Darren Rigdon (Debbie) and Marcy Chancey (Jayson) of Alma, two brothers, Gerald Rigdon (Kathryn) of Kingsland, GA. and Randy Rigdon (Wendy) of Alamo, GA., one sister, Connie Davis (Josh) of Douglas, GA. and four grandchildren, Ryan & Lexie Chancey, Devin & Cameron Rigdon.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 21 ^st at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Rigdon, Rev. T.F. Yawn and Rev. Mike Lee officiating. Interment will follow in Mercer Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 PM.

Active pallbearers will be; Ryan Chancey, Devin Rigdon, Craig Meeks, Chad Davis, Ben Hand and J. W. Swain. All others in attendance will be considered honorary escorts.
