John Wayne Strickland, II, age 38, of Alma passed away Wednesday, August 10th at St. Vincent's Hospital in Jacksonville after a short illness. He was a native of Miami Florida but had lived most of his life in Alma. John was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Survivors include his parents, John Strickland, Sr. and Rebecca householder Strickland of Alma, a brother, Brian Strickland of Villa Rica, GA. and a sister, Jennifer Carter (Daniel) of Alma.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 13th at 2:00 PM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saint with President Ricky McDowell and Elder Jimmy Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the church one hour prior to the funeral.

Active pallbearers will be; Russell and Brian Strickland, Devin Carter, David, Randy and Kenneth Householder. All others in attendance will be considered honorary escorts.
