John L. Sullivan, age 67, of Alma passed away Wednesday, May 18th at the Bacon County Hospital after an extended illness. He was son of the late Perkins James Sullivan, Sr. and Vassie Peacock Sullivan and preceded in death by three sisters, Genive Warden, Christine Palmer and Odessa McDermot and a brother, Danny Sullivan. He retired from the City of Alma after 38 years of employment.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Mary Alice Walker Sullivan, son James Sullivan (Heather) of Alma, a daughter, Elizabeth Bennett (Duncan) of Waycross, one brother, James Perkins Sullivan, Jr. of Waycross, three sisters, Ruthie Sullivan of Jesup, Patsy Kirby and Marie Summerall or Waycross; also 3 grandchildren, Harlee and Haylee Bennett of Waycross and Caroline Sullivan of Alma.

Graveside services will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery Sunday, May 22nd at 1:30 PM with Joe Boatright officiating. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Saturday from 6 to 9 PM.
