John Dexter Todd, age 77, of Nicholls passed away October 15, 2021at his residence after an extended illness. Born in Ware County on March 17, 1944 to Dexter Duffy Todd and Lula Mae Walker Todd.He attended Pine Grove Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by wife, Vernie Jean Todd; brother, Samuel Todd and sisters, Lula Mae Strickland, Maudine Medders and Doris Williams.  Survivors include his wife of 17 years, Debra Harper Todd of Nicholls; five sons, John Anthony Todd (Amanda Marsh), Jeffery Samuel Osteen of Hilliard, FL., Joey Dexter Osteen of Jacksonville, Steven Paul Todd (Jo) of St. George, GA., John Dexter Todd, Jr. (Darlene) of Jacksonville, FL.; two daughters, Yvonne Marie Tilton (Kenny) of Callahan, FL. and Brenda Jean Todd (Mike) of Douglasville, GA.; two stepsons, John Adams of Missouri and Herman Adams of Nicholls; three sisters, Martha Hendrix, Shirley Sunberg and Mary White of Waycross; two brother-in laws, Michael Harper and Ramon Harper (Missy) of Nicholls; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and 12 step grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Chatterton Grove Church Cemetery with Rev. Robert Merritt officiating. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Tuesday morning from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM.

Crosby Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
