John "Johnny" W. Holland, age 70, formerly of Alma passed away on November 12, 2021 after an extended illness. He was son of the late Ernest Holland and Caroline Ruis Holland and preceded in death by a brother, George Holland. He was a member of Son Rise Church Ministries.

Johnny was a sweet humble God-fearing man. He loved the Lord with all his heart and he loved people no matter what. He was the same all the time; he never treated anyone any different. He was an Ordained Pastor, having been Associate Pastor and preached at various churches.

He was raised farming, had farmed many years, had worked several years at Morris Hardware and then went to truck driving which he retired from. He fought a hard battle and now he has received his rewards and is rejoicing with the Lord, his mother, brother and all his family.

Survivors include his wife, Jo Mock Holland of Blackshear; three daughters, Summer Holland and Atessa Holland of Vidalia and Kathryn Bishop (Ben) of Tennessee and three grandchildren, Gage Wadis Holland, Seth Q. Bryant and Landon Hughes.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 18, 2021 at 11:00 AM at New Union Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Lee, Rev. Daniel Eason and Rev. Jerry Lightsey officiating. Interment will follow at Old Pine Grove Church Cemetery.  The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM.

Active pallbearers will be; Gage Holland, Billy Sconyers, Curtis Hardwick,  Ben Bishop, Gene Lee and Larry Smith. All others in attendance will be considered honorary.

Crosby Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
