John W. Wells, age 86, of Alma passed away Sunday, November 27th at Mayo Clinic in Waycross after an extended illness. He was son of the late Willie Baird Wells and Mamie Whitehead Wells and preceded in death by his stepmother, Adelle Sammons Wells a son, Danny Marcus Wells, grandson, Brandon Joseph wells, two brothers, George and James Wells and three sisters, Doris Marsh, Katie Overstreet and Mary Usry Kitchens. He attended the Alma Church of God and served in the US Army during the Korean War and was active duty in Korea.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Sarah Huff Wells of Alma, two sons, Marlyn D. Wells of Nicholls and Robin D. Wells of Alma, a brother, Lewis Wells of Gibson, GA., two sisters, Rendia Kent (Mark) of Collinsville, OK. and Florie Arrington of Idaho; also five grandchildren, John O'Neil Wells, Jason Dean Usry, Aaron Daniel Wells, George Allen Wells and Cori John Wells and five great-grandchildren, Kaley and Caden Wells, Jaden, Jaxon and Mia Grace Usry.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 1st 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. Russell Brinson officiating and a eulogy given by Robin Wells. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 6 to 9 PM.
A graveside service will be held Friday, December 2nd at 2:00 PM at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Gotha, FL.

Active pallbearers will be; John O'Neil Wells, Jason Dean Usry, Aaron Daniel Wells, George Allen Wells and Cori John Wells. All others in attendance will be considered honorary escorts.
