Johnny Carl Taylor, age 85, of Alma died Saturday evening August 17th, 2013 at the Bacon County Hospital after a short illness. He was a native of Bacon County, son of the late Claudie Taylor and Minnie O'Quinn Taylor and was also preceded in death by two sisters, Velera Adams and Hattie Mae Purvis. Carl lived with Janice Helton, his caregiver since July 2010 and attended the Bacon County M R Center the past 25 years.
Survivors include a sister, Wilma Harrell of Alma, a nephew, Jerry Harrell of Alma, a niece, Brenda Anderson of Alma, a foster grandson, Kip O'Quinn of Alma.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 o'clock from the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. Travis Peavy officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Wednesday morning from 10:00 until funeral time.
Active pallbearers will be Willis Courson, Larry Tanner, Kip O'Quinn, Charlie Foster, Mark Cothern and Steve Griffin. Honorary will be students and employees of the Bacon County M R Center and Pat Tanner.
