Johnny Van Johnson, age 65, of Alma passed away Friday, October 26th at the Bacon County Hospital. He was a native of Bacon County and son of the late Julian Corbitt Johnson. Johnny was preceded in death by his mother and father in law, Preston and Mary Lou Taylor. He served in the US Army.
Survivors include his mother and step- father, Willa M. Liles Walker and Andrew J. Walker of Alma, his wife, Cheryl Taylor Johnson of Alma, a brother, Rusty Johnson of Jacksonville, FL., two sister in-laws, Sandra Wilson (Dailey) and Gwen Evans (J.B.) of Alma and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 28th at 3:00 PM from the Chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Barth officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 2:00 PM until funeral time.
Active pallbearers will be; P.J. Douglas, Rodney Wilson, Pinckney Rodgers, Jim Carter, Mickey Anderson and Gene Taylor. Honorary pallbearers will be; Scott Mikell, Homer Courson, Brookie Lewis, Buster Lewis, Dolphus & Jackie Welch, Dewayne Thomas and Vincent Bell.
