Obituary

Johnny Wayne "Bubba" King, Jr., age 54, passed away suddenly January 25, 2026, at Memorial Satilla Health. He was born in Bacon County on May 08,1971. He is preceded in death by his wife, Tammi Cothern King.

He was employed by Ocmulgee EMC as a lineman. He was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church and the Bacon County High School Class of 1989.

He is survived by his parents, Johnny Wayne King, Sr. and Norma Sue Stewart King; daughter, Ludie Pless (Derek) of Alma; son, Justin King (Josh) of Waycross; loving partner, Cheryl Williams; bonus sons, Allen Williams (Sydney) of Baxley and Luke Williams (Donna) of Blackshear; bonus daughter, Brooke Williams of Blackshear; three grandchildren, Cloe and Kade Pless and River Williams; brothers, Tommy King (Dee Dee) of Blackshear and Timmy Gilliard (Stephanie) of Alma; sister, Kandice Davis of Douglas; his mother-in-law, Patsy Holton Hutto of Alma; nieces and nephews, Mikayla Davis, Arterreus (Buddy) Davis, and Chasdyn King.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 28, 2026, in the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home at 6 PM with Pastor Edmund Thrift officiating. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 4PM until service time.

Honorary pallbearers include employees of Ocmulgee EMC, Marty Johnson, Hipp Boatright, Ricky Taylor, Bobo Davis, and Bobby Earl Boatright, Jr.
