Johnny Lee Walton, age 62, of Nicholls passed away Wednesday, February 20th at his residence after an extended illness. He was a native of Donaldsonville, Georgia but had lived in Coffee County for many years. Johnny was son of the late Rev. Robert Lee (R.L) Walton and Irene Collins Walton and was also preceded in death by his father-in-law Duane Page and a special sister-in-n law, Leah Walton. He was an Insurance Agent for many years, a member of the Nicholls Baptist Church where he served as Sunday School Director and Deacon, and served in the National Guard for several years.

Survivors include his wife Pam Page Walton of Nicholls, two daughters, Dana Walton Tyre (Graham) and Amanda Walton Williams (Joel) all of Nicholls. Two grandchildren, Kayden and Johnni Lyn Tyre of Nicholls, three brothers, J.W. Walton (Lula Mae) of Clinton, SC, Robert Walton of Gulf Breeze, FL and Sammy Walton (Connie) of Alma, four sisters, Laverne McMikle of Donaldsonville, Ga., Frankie Broxton of Lakeland, Fl., Mary Caraway of Pensacola, Fl. and Martha O'hearn (Cliff)
of Jakin, Ga., several nieces and nephews, his mother- in- law, Laverne Page, sister-in-law, Jana Page Carver and a special aunt, Joyce Page Moore all of Nicholls.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, Feb. 24th at 2:00 PM at Nicholls Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in Meeks Cemetery. The body will be carried to the church at 1:00 PM to lie in state. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Saturday evening between 6 and 9 PM. Active pallbearers will be; Ardel Boatright, Josh Ellis, Wendell Sasser, Chad Brooks, Eddie Tyre and Ricky Carver. Honorary pallbearers will be; Jon & Pat Lott, John & Judy Middleton, Dr. George Williams, Sidney (Possum) Thomas, all Deacons & wife's past and present of Nicholls Baptist Church and Colonial Life Sales Associates & spouse's.
