Obituary

Jon Lott (68) was born in Nicholls, Georgia to Ralph Grady Lott and Nina Shivers Lott.  He was given a middle name, but he would never forgive his children if they allowed it to be printed here. Jon was baptized at Nicholls Methodist Church, and he remained a believer full of curiosity and committed to service.

Jon attended and graduated from Nicholls School, where he was senior class president and played basketball. After high school, Jon followed in his father's footsteps and attended the University of North Georgia and served in the Corps of Cadets. Military life did not agree with Jon, but he was thankful for his time at North Georgia - especially for the many friendships he made including Jim and Julie Palmour. Jon graduated from Georgia Southern University where he served as Commander of the Sigma Nu Kappa Theta fraternity.

After college, Jon returned to Nicholls (known center of the universe). Like his father, he served as President of Nicholls State Bank and in leadership positions at several other local banks. At the time of his death, he served as Executive Vice President of FNB South where he had worked for nearly three decades.  Jon's deep friendships at FNB South meant the world to him, and he was proud of the work he did there.

Jon was loved, admired, and occasionally notorious in his corner of the world, which he undoubtedly made better.  He was especially proud of his service to Coffee County as a long-serving member and officer of the Coffee Regional Medical Center Board.

In the last years of his life, he also enjoyed being a part of the civic life of Jacksonville, Florida where he spent time with his long-time girlfriend, Rebecca Black. Rebecca cared for Jon with devotion and love during his battle with Cancer.

Jon was an only child, and his mother often observed that she had no need for additional children since she got everything she wanted from the first.  He is survived by his mother and his children Rhani Lott Choi (Eugene), Greige Lott (Nicole), and Jaime King.  In addition to being a cherished father, Jon was the grandfather of Jimmy, Elliot, Rafe, and Vivi (arrival imminent), and was loved by his former spouses Pat Lott and Susan Morris.
