June Tallent, age 86, of Alma passed away Wednesday, June 6th at the Bacon County Hospital after an extended illness. She was a native of Lake County, FL. but had lived most of her life in Bacon County. June was daughter of the late Charlie Wilson and Tennie Bell Wilson; her husband Giles L. Tallent, Sr., a daughter, Laura Jean Hollis, several brothers and sisters and two grandchildren preceded her in death.

Survivors include her son, Giles (Shorty) Tallent, Jr. and wife Shari of Alma, sixteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 9th at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Carver and Rev. Tim Brown officiating and eulogy by Ricky Gilliard. Interment will follow in Mims Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Saturday from 11:00 AM until funeral time.
Active pallbearers will be; James Wilson, Johnny Hollis, Garrett Strickland, John Holton, Wayne Kirkland and Kip Cason. All others in attendance will be considered as honorary escorts.
