Karen Jewell Rigby Youngblood, age 73, of Nicholls, passed away Sunday, May 8, 2022 after an extended illness. She was born in Bacon County on September 24, 1948 to William Henry Rigby and Jessie Mae Ray Rigby. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Jimmy "Verlon" Youngblood; two brothers, Bo and L. B. Rigby; three sisters, Bessie Dennis, Gladys Rigby and Essie Bagley; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Karen was a farmer's wife and was employed with Streats Manufacturing for many years. In the early 80's she went to work with Wal Mart until she retired. She was member of Salem New Congregational Methodist Church.

Survivors include her son, Jimmy Youngblood and wife Lisa of Nicholls; one granddaughter, Jessie Sellars (Jamie) of Nicholls; one great-grandchild, Cameron Sellars of Tifton; three sisters, Carolyn Taylor (Mike) of Sasser, Brenda Williams (Paul) of Douglas and Linda Shumans "Sissy" (Oral) of Hazlehurst; four honorary children, Justin Griffin (Jamie) of Alma, Brock Tanner (Logan) of Surrency, Jake Harrell of Nicholls and Dexter Tims of Douglas; six honorary grandchildren, Kaylan Mullis, Bryce Griffin, Emerson Trowell, Bella Tanner, Lucy Tanner and Lennox Tanner and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 10 ^th from 6 to 8 PM at Crosby Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 11 ^th at 11:00 at Victory Chapel Church with Rev. Tommy Rigdon and Rev. John Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in Moore Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be; Dewayne Rewis, Carroll Rewis, Derek Shumans, Chad Slaughter, Jimmy Bagley and Josh Youngblood. Bethany Hospice and all others in attendance will be considered honorary escort.

Crosby Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
