Kathleen Carter McDonald passed away Friday, February 26, 2016 at the age of 92. Kathleen resided in Alma, Georgia for the last 73 years. She was a native of Ware County. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Roy Henry Carter, Sr.; her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Monroe Lee, Sr. (Ida Davis); her three brothers, Jacob Henry Lee, Samuel Vincent Lee and Monroe Lee, Jr.; one sister, Mary Elizabeth Lee Harrison and one precious great grandson, James Scott Wilson, Jr. She was a member of Alma First Baptist Church and worked for Satilla REMC for many years.
She is survived by her husband, Edker H. McDonald of Alma; her children: Roy Henry Carter, Jr. (Cindi) of Fernandina Beach, FL., Mary Kathleen Carter Mills (Rodney) of Johns Creek, GA., Nancy Lea Carter Dees (Benny) of Mt. Vernon, GA. and Stacy Clarence Carter of Rockingham, GA. Her brother, Jerald Hugh Lee (Jeannette) of Waycross, GA. her grandchildren: Jennifer Dees Wilson (Scott) of Loveland, CO., Johanna Dees Cabrera (José) of Burthoud, CO., Melaney Mills Sems (Kevin) of John's Creek, GA., Marysa Carter Sobral (Bruno) of Windermere, FL., Maryn Mills Whitmore (Matt) of Atlanta, GA. and Joshua Benjamin Dees (Jennifer) of Ft. Collins, CO. Her great grandchildren: Katie and Emma Kathleen Wilson; Maryana Sems, Stella, Marie and Lydia Cabrera; Naomi and Sorci Whitmore; Benjamin and Karlynn Dees. Also surviving her numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will greet family and friends at Crosby Funeral Home Sunday, Feb. 28th from 1:00- 3:00 PM.
The funeral will follow at 3:00 from the Chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. Shareon Wommack officiating and eulogy given by Maryn Mills Whitmore and poem by: Nancy Dees. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be: Josh Dees, Jackson Johnson, Morris Johnson, Jr., Jerald Lee, Kevin Sems, Bruno Sobral and Matt Whitmore. Honorary pallbearers will be: The Rockingham Homemakers Club, Kat's REA family and Loving friends and attendants.
