Cecil Kevin Godwin, age 41, of Alma passed away on August 31, 2018 at the Bacon County Hospital after an extended illness.  He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Cecil B. Godwin, Sr. and Birdie Francis Godwin, maternal grandparents, Glenn Edsel Boatright and Betty Jean Peacock Boatright.

Survivors include his parents, Cecil Godwin, Jr. and Sherri Boatright Godwin, one daughter, Kadence Godwin and her mother Amanda Goodman, a sister, Kimberly Boatright , niece, Bindi Boatright, numerous aunts, uncles and close cousins all of Alma.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 2 ^nd at 3:00 PM at New Hope Church with Rev. Pet Hayes, Rev. Robert Varnadore, John Peagler and Rev. R. B. Gaskins officiating.  The family will be receiving friends at New Hope Sunday from 1:00 PM until funeral time.

Active pallbearers will be; Morris Johnson, Al Lee, Kevin Miles, Derrick Rowland, Adam Smart and Scott Medders. Honorary pallbearers will be; The Class of 1995, Staff of Bacon County Hospital, Staff of Twin Oaks Nursing Home, Dr. Clay Carter and Staff and all others in attendance.
