IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kim E.

Kim Vickers had a giving heart. For nearly 30 years, she gave of her love, her resources, her talents, and skills to the benefit of her community.
She passed away on November 22, 2023, surrounded by her loving family, husband Gene Vickers, daughter Kelly McGuire (Jordan), son Josh Manning, and son Chris Vickers (Ashley). She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Nora, Amelia, and Heidi McGuire, Peaton Cooper, Judah and Henri Manning, and Hunter and Autumn Boatright, her mother, Barbara Kenton Carson, and brother, Jim Smith (Cindy).
Kim was a veteran of the US Navy, serving during the Vietnam Conflict. She was the coordinator of Bacon County Family Connection for over 24 years, and the founder of the Fifth Street Food Pantry, and the Clothes Closet.
As a person who faced many challenges in her early life, she advocated fiercely for children and families of this community, tutoring, mentoring, providing clothing and food. She will be remembered for her loving and generous heart.
A memorial service will be held on December 5 at 11:00 AM at Big Creek Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, her family asks that contributions be made to her ministry, Fifth Street Food Pantry.
