Obituary
Klara Fuchs Smith, age 71, of Alma passed away at her residence Sunday, February 3rd after an extended illness. She was a native of Aachen, Germany but had lived in Bacon County for many years. Kalara was daughter of the late Karl and Lucy Fuchs
and preceded in death by a son, James Larry Smith and a daughter, Donna Sturgil.
Survivors include her husband, James C. (Sonny) Smith of Alma, eight grandchildren, Christina Whitiker of Bath, SC., Brandon & Brittney Sturgil of Statesboro, Ga., Monica Roberts and Danelle Smith of Alma, Stephanie Yawn of Hazlehurst, Kelsey Smith of Augusta, Ga. and Briana Smith of Texas and a nephew, Manford Fuchs of Germany.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 5th at 2:00 PM at Elizabeth Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Howell and Rev. Lowell Lee officiating and eulogy given by Junior Grantham. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at Elizabeth Chapel from 11:00 AM until funeral time.
Active pallbearers will be; Brandon Sturgil, Matthew Lee, Carlton Roberts, Shawn Capps, Jessie Pearson and Jordie Boatright. All others in attendance will be considered honorary escorts.
Crosby Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
